St. Louis Blues Player to Watch vs. Philadelphia Flyers: Jordan Kyrou

ST. LOUIS — Jordan Kyrou will get a crack at redemption when the Blues (11-12-1) host Philadelphia Flyers (11-10-3) today at 18 (FDSNMW, ESPN 101.1-FM).

That was it October 31, when Kyrou skated a puck that led to the Flyers scoring what turned out to be the game-winning goal with over three minutes remaining in a 2-1 loss.. So the striker would love nothing more than to make an impact in the match against the same team.

However, Kyrou is also on a solid scoring run with a point in 10 of the past 13 games (five goals, five assists) and with a player who isn’t shy about shooting pucks and a Flyers team that loves to block shots , Kyrou and the Blues must look to stick to the program even if shots are blocked.

“It’s more important that you look to shoot faster so they don’t get into lanes because you know they’re going to make sacrifices,” Blues coach Jim Montgomery said. “So if you wait and look for a passing opportunity instead of having a shoot-first mentality, it allows them to get into shooting lanes.”
