I’ll be real, I hate having so many subscriptions to different services that I’ve come to depend on – from Amazon to Netflix and stuff, it’s all connected. That said, gaming is an expensive hobby as it is, and I can safely say that not only does having Xbox Game Pass save me loads of money, it means I’m jumping into games I normally wouldn’t watch because I have the benefit of it being ‘free’ (not actually free, but you follow!).

Most recently I found myself jumping into the first Call of Duty I’ve played in years because shooters aren’t really my game, but all my friends were playing it on Xbox Game Pass. I’ve found myself enjoying the game and if it wasn’t for my subscription I never thought I’d enjoy Call of Duty again! I’m still very bad at it, but that’s neither here nor there. The point is that the Xbox Game Pass library is large and diverse, and the Ultimate tier gives you access to the whole thingand then extra perks and exclusive discounts on top!

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate has also gotten even better with its latest feature: Xbox Cloud Gaming now includes the “Bring Your Own Games” program. This means you can stream a growing list of your owned titles directly from the cloud, no downloads required, and more games will be added soon. This has saved me money again as I was tempted to buy Balatro on mobile, but now that it’s part of the Cloud Gaming library I already have it on my mobile as part of my subscription.

Looking ahead, there is so much to look forward to. Titles like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle are imminent and creating a lot of buzz, and we have Avowed from Obsidian dropping in February, if you get a subscription now you’ll get access to them as well as titles like Stalker 2 and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 (which many people enjoy despite a rocky launch). Yes. You can share Xbox Game Pass with another person. To do this, log in to their Xbox with your account, Navigate to Profile & system > Settings > General > Personalization. Then to My home Xbox, and select Make this my home Xbox.

Now everyone on this console can play your games and games with subscription games, but they won’t have access to Game Pass-specific perks and Xbox Cloud Gaming.

When is Black Friday?

Black Friday officially starts 29 November 2024 i.e. TODAY. However, retailers have been offering deals all week, even if it’s today, and the weekend is where we’ll likely see the best deals.

When does Black Friday end?

Black Friday usually occupies the entire Friday immediately after Thanksgiving, but the lines have blurred over the years. Black Friday do ends at midnight 29 November 2024and many offers and sales end next door. However, many deals will also continue through the weekend and even all the way to Cyber Monday, and new deals may replace those that ended. When is Cyber Monday?
