Max Black Friday Streaming Deal: Pay $18 total for 6 months

Black Friday streaming deals are pouring in well before the shopping frenzy itself. If Max is on your wish list to watch TV, you can grab the streamer’s offer right now. Now is a good time to check it out if you want to stream the Beetlejuice sequel, live sports and the upcoming Creature Commandos series.

Through December 2, new and returning subscribers in the US can get six months of Max’s ad-supported plan for $3 per month. month. That comes out to $18 total for the six months. You pay full price for Max With Ads — $10 per month — after the offer period, so cancel before then if you don’t want to continue using the service.

You can access the agreement at Max.comApple, Google Play, Roku, Samsung and Xumo (and on Amazon Fire TV – but only if you’re a new customer). The ad-supported plan lets you watch on up to two screens simultaneously, but it doesn’t let you download titles for offline viewing. That’s a benefit of Max’s ad-free plans – Ad-Free or Ultimate Ad-Free option – which are currently not on sale for Black Friday.

Any Max plan gives you access to the streamer’s library, which includes HBO shows like The Penguin and Dune: Prophecy, Max series like The Sex Lives of College Girls, Warner Bros. movies and programming from HGTV, Food Network and Adult Swim brands. Outside of the Black Friday promotion, you can get Max With Ads with annual DashPass from DoorDash or one of Cricket Wireless’ unlimited plans. If you know you want Max for 12 months, you can pay annually for any of its tiers and save more than paying monthly for a year.

Why this deal matters

In June, Max raised the price of its ad-free options, but it kept its $10-a-month ad-supported plan. The commercially supported tier is still the cheapest way to go if you don’t mind ads, and right now it costs even less for new and returning customers. If you didn’t want to pay $10 to try Max With Ads or canceled during a price increase, now is the time to get it at a discount. As the holidays approach, you can stream Christmas classics like Elf, A Christmas Story and The Polar Express on the service.
