Liam Payne pal accused of ‘abandonment’ texts singer about drugs, prostitutes before fatal fall

Liam Payne texted his friend and appointed caretaker about using drugs and having sex with prostitutes just hours before he dropped to his death – with prosecutors wanting to try the pal for “abandonment” for failing to save him from his growing substance abuse.

Argentinian businessman Roger Nores, 35, who was one of three men charged in connection with the One Direction star’s death after he plunged from a hotel balcony in a drug-induced stupor last month, checked into Payne a total of three times on the day he died, Argentine prosecutors claimed in court documents obtained by TMZ.

Around 7 a.m. on Oct. 16, an already intoxicated Payne texted Nores, saying, “Dude, I think I’m going to f—ka whores,” prosecutors said. About two and a half hours later, Payne texted him asking for “6 grams” — presumably meaning cocaine.

Payne and Nores had breakfast together at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, where Payne drank whiskey. Afterward, Payne went back to his trashed hotel room and frantically searched for a “powder,” according to a maid who was in the room.

A pair of prostitutes appeared in Payne’s room around 11:30 p.m. and had sex with him, they told police. He also asked them for cocaine because he was completely out.

He would later ask a hotel employee for “an additional 7 grams for today” around 2 p.m

Nores left Payne’s room shortly after 4 p.m., and around the same time hotel staff reported hearing Payne smashing things. Someone from the hotel tried to call Nores, but he did not answer.

When the prostitutes asked for payment, Payne freaked out and hit the television. Nores came back to the hotel around 3.45pm to pay the women, at which point staff noticed the singer appeared “visibly intoxicated”.

Nores texted Payne, “Are you OK?” 16:25, but the star did not answer.

Nores has maintained that Payne looked fine when he left him at the hotel about an hour before he fell to his death from the balcony, sources close to Nores told TMZ.

Moments before Payne’s fatal jump, a hotel worker called 911 and said they feared for his safety after they had to drag him through the hotel lobby and lock him in his room. The employee indicated that he could be injured by using the balcony to escape.

Nores was charged with abandonment for allegedly failing to inform the musician’s family that he had relapsed into drugs. He testified, prompting a judge to rule that he had allegedly breached his duty of care to Payne.

Authorities interviewed Payne’s father, who said Nores volunteered to take over as Payne’s caretaker in May and arrange for him to go to rehab, the documents state.

Payne’s father said it was important that Payne was always busy and never alone in his recovery.

Earlier this month, Nores, He said “never left Liam.”

“I went to his hotel three times that day and left 40 minutes before this happened,” he said.

“There were over 15 people in the hotel lobby chatting and joking with him when I left.”

The accusers who wrote the court document are national prosecutors — however, a judge ruled that any case involving alleged “abandonment” must be handled by local prosecutors, meaning they have no legal recourse to pursue the charges, TMZ reported.

To date, no charges have been brought by local prosecutors. The national prosecutors appealed the judge’s ruling, but the appeal was rejected.
