KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Another mostly dry day ahead as clouds begin to increase during our Monday. The bigger changes will come late Monday and into Tuesday morning as our rain coverage increases with our next cold front.

LOOKING FORWARD

You’ll want to get outside while we’re on the warm side of the approaching cold front this afternoon! Clouds are increasing today and a stray shower is possible. Knoxville will reach a high of about 66 degrees, with winds increasing out of the southwest at 10 to 15 mph with some gusts around 20 to 25 mph.

Tonight will be rainy as a line of showers and some thunderstorms move across our area. We have a good 80% coverage tonight, with gusts around 30 mph. We will be down to spotty showers by sunrise and drop to about 48 degrees.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Tuesday is cooler, but right around average, with a high of 55 degrees. We’ll get a cloudy start with spotty showers and then see sunshine return on Tuesday afternoon. Winds are cool from the northeast at 5 to 10 mph.

Tuesday night will be clear and colder at 34 degrees, then we will see the clouds increase on Wednesday with a seasonal high of 58 degrees. (Now, if you’re traveling, you’ll want to watch the track of the front coming in from the west in the free WVLT First Alert Weather app.) The next line of rain and storms moves in Wednesday night, with some nice soakings rain that brings half an inch to about three-quarters of an inch of rain.

Thanksgiving Day starts with the early morning rain and it turns into scattered, cool showers throughout the day. We will hardly budge on the temperatures, with an afternoon around 52 degrees, but getting colder.
