Auli’i Cravalho hits the ground running for the Moana 2 Press Tour

I have high hopes for Moana 2 – I absolutely believe in his work Moana to be Rock’s best work, in fact – though Moana is wonderful and will be hard to top. If nothing else, star Auli’i Cravalho is starting off on the right foot; this top look, from Oscar de la Renta, is absolutely perfect for her. It is SO stunning.

She too gave a really interesting interview to Vogue where she said, “showcasing Hawaiian and Pacific Island designers was a must for this press tour … I wanted to celebrate Pacific artistry every step of the way—from my nail artist, Ashley Dieron-Baginski, to jewelry by Lahaʻole designs.” To that end, check out what she wore to the Hawaiian premiere this weekend:

About this look, she told Vogue:

“I had a very special idea about spotlighting momi keʻokeʻoseashells, for our Hawai’i premiere look,” says Cravalho. “We presented this challenge to Afa Ah Loo, who cleverly strung individual white swallowtail shells into a cape-like shape reminiscent of Hawaiian ʻahu ʻula— a feather cloak worn by ancient Hawaiian royalty.

I think this is so cool; I can’t wait to see the rest of this trip.
