Trump’s cabinet committee demonizes people with a ‘good education’, says Bill Clinton

Bill Clinton has accused Donald Trump of demonizing people with “a good education” and who “wear ties to work” with his cabinet picks.

The 42nd president said the Republican presidential candidate’s choice represented an attempt to destroy any remaining public trust in the federal government.

Trump has made a number controversial choices for influential positions to manage his second term in the White House, including an intelligence chief with pro-Kremlin views and an attorney general with lingering allegations of paying for sex with a 17-year-old girl.

The Telegraph previously reported that his main priority in building the next administration was loyalty, after Trump felt he had been betrayed by many of the more establishment-friendly choices during his first term.

In an interview on MSNBC, Clinton said Trump’s latest cabinet would say “yes” to the president-elect, “regardless of the facts, regardless of who gets hurt.”

“He believes his supporters have no trust whatsoever in the federal government. And Lord knows he’s done everything he can to destroy that trust,” Clinton said.

“He thinks he can just say, ‘Well, I’ve appointed these people. They’re smart and they’re going to shake things up.’

“But I think that by demonizing all establishments and people who wear ties – like you and me – to work and have a good education, we erode the legitimacy of not only people who are too inviolable and too set in their ways. , but people who know things that are very important to us today and very important to our continued growth, prosperity and harmony.”

Mr. Trump’s anti-establishment cabinet faces an uphill battle to be confirmed by the Senate, which has already forced his nominee for attorney general to withdraw from the confirmation process.

Matt Gaetz resigned amid a series of sexual misconduct allegations investigated by the House Ethics Committee. He denies the charges.

Pete Hegsetha Fox News anchor, Mr. Trump’s choice for secretary of defense also faces accusations of sexual assault. He says the meeting was consensual. Mr. Hegseth’s lawyer said his client had paid the prosecutor to keep the allegations quiet out of fear he would lose his job at the broadcaster.
