Darius Slay sat out the Eagles-Rams game with a concussion

The Eagles defense was certainly challenged Sunday night against the Rams, and veteran CB Darius Slay left the game after a helmet-to-helmet hit in the third quarter. He was ruled out fairly quickly due to a concussion.

This was the second injury of the night for Slay, who also left the game during the first drive after colliding with teammate Reed Blankenship. Slay was ultimately able to return on the next drive until he was sidelined again later.

The CB has been injured several times throughout the season and Isaiah Rodgers has done a very good job each time he has stepped into Slay’s role. Rodgers took the field for him again on Sunday, and immediately impacted things, forcing a fumble that was scooped up by Nakobe Dean. Rodgers returned when Slay left in the second half.
