Second entity offering mobile lottery tickets in Colorado

Colorado Lottery players now have another option to buy tickets without leaving the house.

Jackpot.com has launched in Colorado, giving players another opportunity to order and play official state lottery tickets and scratch cards from their mobile phones and other devices. The digital courier service will allow players in Colorado to instantly purchase tickets for statewide games such as Mega Millions and Powerball, as well as Colorado Lottery games.

“Couriers have worked in Colorado for several years,” wrote Meghan Dougherty, communications manager for the Colorado Lottery. Operating through Winners Corner in Pueblo, Jackpocket first launched in 2020.

Jackpot.com purchases tickets on behalf of its customers from an official state lottery retailer, displays a scan of their ticket and transfers winnings under $600 in real time to their account. For prizes greater than $600, the courier service securely delivers the ticket to the winning player so they can collect the winnings from the Colorado Lottery, according to Nov. 13. announcement from Jackpot.com.

Jackpot.com hopes that their platform will reduce the amount of unclaimed lottery winnings. “There are billions of dollars in unclaimed winnings,” said Akshay Khanna, founder and CEO of Jackpot.com. With the mobile app, winners will automatically receive winnings in their account, eliminating the chance of missing out on a prize just because a player forgets to check their ticket.

Another aspect of Jackpot.com’s platform works to provide players with ethical gaming practices, such as ensuring players are 18 years of age or older, and also includes daily deposit limits and daily purchase limits.

“At Jackpot.com, we … couldn’t be more excited to add Colorado as our seventh state,” Khanna said. “Last year, the Colorado Lottery reached $4 billion in revenue, and they give back millions of dollars each year to state parks, schools and various projects.”

Jackpot.com launches with five of the most popular scratchers in Colorado, including $3,000,000 Supreme, Casino Ca$h Chips and $250,000 ORO.

Updated at 12.34 22 November 2024: This article was updated to correct that jackpot.com is not the first digital courier agency operating in Colorado.
