Jamie Lee Curtis gets ‘perfect’ birthday wake-up call with confetti cake from husband

Jaime Lee Curtis’ birthday got off to a great start.

The actress shared a photo on Instagram of her husband Christopher Guest’s birthday cake on Friday, November 22. The cake came decorated with a candle and “Happy Birthday JLC!” written in red.

“Perfect birthday wake up,” Curtis, now 66, began in the caption. “3:45. Warm, quiet house. Soft puppy. Sleeping man. Connection to my world.”

Curtis and Guest began dating in 1984 and were married by the end of that year. Their 40th wedding anniversary is coming up on December 18.

She continued in her caption: “He wakes up and brings a birthday cake. Dive into it with two little champagne flutes. Blow out candles.”

The actress highlighted the artist who made the bowl, Moye Thompsonand added the poem written on the bowl’s exterior – “To be of use” by Marge Piercy – in the post’s caption.

Curtis continued to speak the Today show in January about how she embraces aging. “Sixty-five is a moment of reflection and excitement,” she said at the time. “So for me, I feel more excited, more turned on creatively. I have a new book. I’m about to make a movie. I’m going to be on a TV show. I’m feeling creative.”

“I’m a lot less hard on myself,” she continued. “I’m very accepting of how I look and I own what I think and feel. And that, to me, is what maturity is.”
