Why Matlock is not new tonight 21 November

In its inaugural season, CBS’ Matlock has proven to be a huge hit with TV viewers and critics (with WTW joins the ranks with ours Matlock review). Rated 100% on Rotten tomatoes (as of publication), named The most watched new program of the fall 2024 TV season and already greenlit for a season 2, Matlock has become a jewel of primetime that may be a force come Emmy nomination time. Unfortunately, those hoping to see what’s next for the Kathy Bates-led drama will have to wait, as a new episode will not air on Thursday, November 21.

As for why, CBS is getting into the Christmas spirit and premiering the new movie special, Nugget is dead? A Christmas story on 21 November at 8:00 PM ET/PT running through Matlockusual times at 21.00. If you’re also a fan of CBS’ other Thursday night programming (which includes Ghosts season 4, Georgie & Mandy’s first marriage and Elizabeth season 2), then you may be further disappointed as the entire Thursday lineup takes a break from airing new episodes. However, Georgie & Mandy’s first marriage and Ghosts sent again from 10:00 PM ET/PT.

So when will TV’s favorite new lawyer return with a new episode on CBS? The answer to that is on December 5 at 9:00 PM ET/PT. Understandably, CBS gives Matlock the week off for Thanksgiving on Nov. 28, though a rebroadcast will air at 9:00 PM ET/PT.

Here is the synopsis for the next new episode of Matlocktitled “Belly of the Beast,” which will serve as its first Christmas episode:

“Matty is working on a case with Julian where a young woman is suing after experiencing severe symptoms from a clinical trial. At the company party, Olympia learns a secret about Julian’s past.”
