Kendrick Lamar Talks Lil Wayne Super Bowl Drama, Disappointment In Snoop On ‘Weakened Murals’

Kendrick Lamar has chosen to share his reaction to the recent headlines surrounding his name on the new album GNX. Opening track “wacced out murals” finds the Compton rapper addressing the lack of support he received following the announcement that he would be headlining the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show, as well as his disappointment with a West Coast legend and appreciation for a Queens- vet who showed him. nothing but love.

Thematically, the song addresses Kendrick getting used to receiving hate and disrespect, with the title example being a mural in his hometown that was vandalized shortly after the filming of his “Not Like Us” video. The second verse sees the MC delve into the conversation surrounding his upcoming Super Bowl performance, as New Orleans native Lil Wayne has expressed his disappointment at not being chosen to take the stage in his hometown. During his recent Lil Weezyana festival, he went so far as to say that the performance was “torn away” from him.

“Used to bump Carter 3, I wore my Rollie chain proudly. Irony, I think my hard work failed Lil Wayne,” Lamar spat, referencing the classic J. Cole track, “Let Nas Down.”

“Anything, call me crazy, everybody questionable, made me an Eskimo, I drew the line and the decimal,” he continues, before calling out Snoop Dogg for sharing the Drake-these “Taylor Made” on social media. The track featured AI verses from both Snoop and 2Pac.

“Snoop posted ‘Taylor Made’ I pray it was the edibles. I couldn’t believe it, it’s only right for me not to.”

He continued: “Winning the Super Bowl and Nas the only one congratulating me, all these ni**as fired up, I’m just glad they’re showing their faces.”

‘wacced out murals’ can be found on Lamar’s surprise album, GNXwhich dropped on Friday and was introduced with a snippet of the title track on YouTube.
