Mother Ilderton quits ‘The Voice’ leaving Gwen Stefani’s team on final night of knockout round

Mother Ilderton has resigned The voice and unexpectedly left Gwen Stefani’s team on the final night of the Knockouts round of the competition.

On Monday’s episode of the NBC reality competition, Coach Stefani shared with Mega Mentor Sting that she only had Jan Dan and Sydney Sterlace on the hearing team.

“We had Mom, who I stole, but he had to go home, so it’s just the two of us,” she told the “Every Breath You Take” singer.

When Ilderton left the show, Sydney advanced to the playoffs and won the Knockouts round, and Jan was pushed through after Stefani saved them.

It’s not clear why Ilderton left season 26 of the show, but his social media has been active promoting a new single, “Stranger,” which is set to be released on Friday, November 22.

Ilderton’s exit comes a week after another contestant left The voice. Country singer Tanner Frick made headlines last week when host Carson Daly told coach Michael Bublé that Frick had left the show.

“Michael, Tanner (Frick) left the competition after practices. You still have Cameron (Wright) and Sloane (Simon),” Daly said, noting that Frick had “left the competition after tryouts.”

Frick did not reveal the reason for his exit, but did share one video on TikTok song and captioned the post: “Ain’t nobody wantin’ me anyway.”

The singer auditioned for the coaches and sang Morgan Wallen’s “Thought You Should Know,” which made the four coaches turn their chairs. Bublé, Snoop Dogg, Reba McEntire and Stefani were captivated by Frick’s voice and fought to get him on their team.

Frick chose to go with McEntire, and heading into the Battles round of the competition, singing hopeful Jelly Roll performed “Need a Favor” against country singer Tate Renner. McEntire chose Renner to continue on his team, but Bublé stepped in to save him from elimination and join his team.

“Tanner Frick was a huge win for me,” Bublé said. “It’s a previous trip with four chairs and a piece of the puzzle that I didn’t have.”

Bublé continued, “I needed that country singer, and now I feel like I’m all in the game. It’s a brave new world we’re entering.”
