Titans LB likely out for season

(This story was updated with new information.)

Tennessee Titans linebacker Jack Gibbens has been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings after suffering a right ankle injury.

The injury occurred with 10:55 left in the third quarter after an Aaron Jones rush, fumble and fumble recovery. Gibbens’ right leg was quickly immobilized and he left the pitch at Nissan Stadium on a cart.

Titans coach Brian Callahan acknowledged the injury after the game and said Gibbens is likely out for the rest of the season.

Gibbens led the Titans in tackles in each of the last two games, but had not registered a tackle entering Sunday’s game.

Jerome Baker, acquired via trade from Seattle in the deal that sent Ernest Jones IV to the Seahawks, should get the majority of the linebacker snaps along with Kenneth Murray.
