Thousands across Jefferson, Orleans Parish without power

JEFFERSON PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Over 8,000 Entergy customers are without power Monday, Nov. 18 in parts of Jefferson and Orleans parishes.

The outage reportedly happened around 7 a.m. on Monday, November 18.

According to Entergy’s Outage Map, the outage extends from Bark Street in Harvey to Parterson Drive in Algiers.

Currently, Entergy officials report 6,702 customers affected in Jefferson Parish and 2,851 affected in Orleans Parish. They determined the location of the outage to be the Gretna substation.

“Crews are on scene now working to restore customers as quickly and as safely as possible. We will provide more information as it becomes available,” Entergy officials said.

The cause of the outage remains under investigation. Power is expected to be restored by noon, according to Entergy officials.
