North Korea may end up sending Putin 100,000 soldiers to war

North Korea could deploy as many as 100,000 troops to help Russia’s war against Ukraine if the alliance between Pyongyang and Moscow continues to deepen, according to people familiar with assessments by the Group of 20 nations.

The analysis is one of several on the developing partnership between the Russian president Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Unthe people said, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss private discussions. They stressed that such a move was not imminent and that military support on that scale — if it happened — would likely be in batches of troops that rotated over time rather than in a single deployment.
