During a stellar career, Hamlin has amassed an impressive 54 race wins and 352 top-10s. However, a Cup Series championship has so far eluded him.

Unfortunately for Hamlin, this trend continued in 2024, making the playoffs, but was cut after the round of 16, thus falling short of the championship four.

Denny Hamlin on NASCAR retirement

After the championship race in Phoenix it was confirmed that Hamlin and long-term NASCAR sponsor FedEx would part ways.

This combined with the fact that Hamlin co-owns the NASCAR team these days at 23XI Racing sparking speculation that the #11 driver might call it a day.

However, it appears that this is not the case as Hamlin has cleaned things up Harmful Deeds with Denny Hamlin Podcast.

Hamlin admitted he only thinks about retirement on Mondays when he ‘feels like s**t’, explaining: “Every Sunday I get in that car and I say, ‘I have a chance to win ‘, and it’s just something that’s going to be hard for me to give up,”

“There’s definitely going to be a light switch one day that turns on that I’m not as fast as I was and stuff like that.

“But I still feel like I can win it and I feel like I can win every week and that’s what drives me.”

Hamlin’s final verdict in the case suggested that we will indeed see him in the Cup Series next season.

“When those who choose to retire, they know. I don’t know,” he concluded.
