Evan McPherson’s nightmare season culminates in the Bengals’ loss to the Chargers

Evan McPherson was already having a bad season prior to the Cincinnati Bengals’ crushing 34-27 loss to Chargers. Unfortunately for him, the Cincinnati Bengals’ crushing 34-27 loss to the Chargers was largely due to not one, but two missed field goals in the fourth quarter that would have put the Bengals ahead.

Instead of what could have been an all-time franchise win, we’re talking about the latest debilitating loss in a season that threatens to break whatever the all-time record is for debilitating losses.

And unfortunately, several of those losses have come in part due to McPherson missing field goals at critical times in close defeats.

McPherson’s first miss came with 7:35 left and was only a 48-yarder, which used to be as automatic as a PAT for him.

McPherson’s second miss came with 1:48 left and was only a 51-yarder, which actually also used to be automatic for the man once known as Money Mac (never say that name again).
