Will a third straight prime time on NBC be a charm for Wisconsin?

If so, it would be considered among the greatest victories in the history of the UW football program.

Top-ranked Oregon visits Madison on Saturday night as the Badgers get a third chance to upset a top-10 team at home this season. They have previously lost to Alabama and Penn State.

It looked like UW needed the bye week after being pushed around from start to finish at Iowa two weeks ago.

But will the extra seven days give the Badgers a chance against team no. 1 in the country? The Ducks are allowing less than 17 points per game and the Badgers have been challenged often offensively this season, including last week in Iowa City.

Mark Stewart: While I think the Badgers will bounce back from their poor showing in Iowa, they haven’t shown they are ready to beat the top teams. No. 1 Oregon is simply too explosive, and UW hasn’t shown the ability to keep up with teams like that. The Badgers have faced three ranked teams this season and lost by an average score of 36-15. JR Radcliffe: There is no data or analysis you can point to that suggests the Badgers have a shot here. This is arguably the best offense they’ve played this year, and perhaps the best defense as well. Unfortunately, the Badgers are in a place where even keeping it respectable will be a win, certainly true if they cover the spread with two touchdowns that seems generous to Wisconsin. For UW to win, it will take a ton of luck, some big plays (not their strength this year) and absolutely no turnovers (also not their strength this year). But you know what? Let’s get crazy.
