Snow showers, first fall freeze possible in Middle Tennessee next week

Our hot days may be numbered as the models suggest a major pattern shift at the end of next week.

The timing is subject to change, but Chief Meteorologist Katy Morgan says it currently looks like we could see this big swing happen no later than Thursday, November 21 and Friday, November 22.

This has the potential to bring the Midstate’s coldest air of the season and the first fall freeze for many areas.

Nashville’s coldest temperature so far this fall is 37 degrees, observed on October 17th.

These types of systems can also be known to produce light showers.

Uncertainty is currently quite high on whether we will see any showers associated with this system, but a little more confidence that we will see a big cooldown late next week.

The timing of the arrival of the cold air and the chance of precipitation can change.

FOX 17 News will continue to track the cooler air moving in and bring you updates as they come.
