Deion Sanders addresses speculation that he is leaving Colorado for the Cowboys

DENVER (KDVR) — Deion Sanders loves where he is.

On Tuesday during an episode of Talkthe Colorado buffalo coach made it clear that he is enjoying where he is right now. Former teammate Michael Irvin asked Sanders about speculation that he could take the Dallas Cowboys coaching job next season, and Coach Prime deftly avoided answering by claiming he loved where he was.

As Irvin was about to ask the question, Sanders said, “Don’t start with that.”

The Buffs move to No. 17 in the College Football Playoff rankings

Then, after Irvin said Jerry Jones and the Cowboys needed better and almost outright asked if Sanders was interested in the job, the Colorado coach picked up his laptop and went to the window to show this background of his office, which looked out at Folsom Field as he repeated, “I love where I am.”

Terry Coleman, a University of Colorado Denver graduate and lifelong Colorado Buffaloes fan, told FOX31’s Greg Nieto that he thinks the team can go far this year.

“For me as a fan, it (this year) has been a great run. I think this is our year – go CU!” he told Nieto.

He also commented on speculation that Sanders could take the Dallas Cowboys’ coaching job.

“You know, I’ve heard this rumor, but I hope it’s not true,” he told Nieto. “There would be so many heartbroken fans in that news … we want Coach Prime to build on what he has accomplished so far.”

Sanders currently has the Buffaloes 7–2 and sitting in second place in the Big 12. There’s no doubt he’s building something in Boulder. But his sons Shilo and Shedeur will be gone next season, so if he’s going to move up in the coaching world, 2025 might be the time to do it.
