Dominion Energy Offers Help With Electric Bills For Small Businesses | Community News

With cooler temperatures around the corner, Dominion Energy South Carolina is reminding small businesses that may be struggling financially to apply for help with their energy bills.

EnergyShare for Small Businesses offers qualifying businesses, nonprofits and houses of worship across its service area up to $2,500 in one-time assistance toward their Dominion Energy South Carolina electric bill. The two-year pilot program is administered in partnership with the United Way Association of South Carolina.

“EnergyShare offers a helping hand to the small businesses that play such an important role in our neighborhoods and across the communities we serve,” said Keller Kissam, president of Dominion Energy South Carolina. “We are proud to partner with United Way to connect businesses across the Palmetto State with the help they need when they need it most.”

Eligible companies must:

  • Receive electrical service from Dominion Energy South Carolina.
  • Have an active business account and license to do business in the Dominion Energy South Carolina service area.
  • Be considered a small general service customer as determined by Dominion Energy South Carolina at a qualifying rate.
  • Employ 50 or fewer people from 1 January 2024.
  • Have arrears equal to or greater than $300 plus ongoing fees.
  • Be a house of worship, an independently owned and operated for-profit business, or a nonprofit that has 501(c)(3) status.

EnergyShare is also available for residential customers. The program is designed to assist seniors, persons with disabilities and income-eligible customers with electric and/or natural gas services. To apply for help, contact a local Community Action Agency listed at DominionEnergy.com.
