Officially announced earlier this year, Prime Video’s live-action Tomb Raider series is the latest attempt to adapt the landmark action-adventure franchise starring world-famous archaeologist and adventurer Lara Croft. Waller-Bridges is the series’ writer and executive producer, who has found fame for his work as the star and creator of Fleabag.

“There is room to do something really, really dangerous,” Waller-Bridge said earlier. “And if I can do something dangerous and exciting with Tomb Raider, I already have an audience of people who love Lara and hopefully will continue to do that. And that’s a very unusual position to be in. It’s the old Trojan horse. “

Aside from the brief tease, however, we know little about the approach the Amazon show will take to Lara Croft, with Turner’s potential casting being the most significant development yet. Recently, Netflix aired its own anime tribute to Tomb Raider, with Hayley Atwell voicing the main character.
