Eagles QB ends game vs Commanders

PHILADELPHIA − Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts went into the medical tent with an undisclosed injury after leading the Eagles to a field goal with 19 seconds left in the first half.

Hurts was hit hard on the final play, a 3rd and goal from Washington’s 3. He dove and threw incomplete. Hurts was also slow to get up a few plays before that.

He came out of the tent at halftime and jogged into the locker room. He jogged back to the sideline to start the third quarter, then went to the exercise bike.

The Eagles announced that Hurts was evaluated for a concussion and cleared to return. Last week, Eagles coach Nick Sirianni said Hurts was dealing with an ankle injury.

Previously, it took just three games for an Eagles player to suffer an injury when left guard Landon Dickerson left with a leg injury.

Dickerson, who was selected to the Pro Bowl the previous two seasons, was injured on Saquon Barkley’s three-yard run on 3rd-and-2 from the Eagles’ 38. Dickerson was replaced by Tyler Steen.

But Dickerson returned for the next series.
