Former boss was shockingly cut by new team after just one week

31 teams in the NFL are trying to catch the Kansas City Chiefs and no one seems to be able to. The Chiefs are 9-0 on the year and have been able to pile up wins despite being hit with several losses.

Most players who suit up for the Chiefs seem to be productive when wearing the red, yellow and white. And when they leave KC, they seem to struggle.

A former Chiefs defender is the latest example after he was released a week after signing with a new team.

According to Tim Wyatt, Tennessee Titans safety Mike Edwards is releasing just one week after signing with the team.

Edwards signed with Tennessee on Nov. 6, but was inactive for the Week 10 contest against the Los Angeles Chargers. This comes after Edwards asked to be released by the Buffalo Bills.

The 28-year-old played for the Chiefs in the 2023 season and was able to be an effective defender for them. He recorded 51 total tackles, five pass breakups, two fumble recoveries and an interception.

Since leaving Kansas City, he has struggled to find a consistent home and make an impact. The Kentucky product is on the open market again and will look to find his third team in 2024. He brings a veteran presence to the secondary with 78 career games and 28 starts under his belt. Edwards has 236 total tackles and eight interceptions in his NFL career.
