Jonathan Bailey reveals healthy connection between Wicked and Bridgerton as fans are left ‘sobbing’

Jonathan Bailey has revealed the healthy connection between Netflix’s Bridgerton and the upcoming Wicked movie.

The actor, 36, stars as Elphaba’s love interest Fiyero Tigelaar in Wicked and plays Lord Anthony in Bridgerton.

And in both the musical and the popular series, Jonathan revealed that he was accompanied by the exact same horse, named Jack.

Jonathan revealed the unique connection between the two, saying that he insisted that the director of Wicked, Jon M. Chu, choose the same horse he had ridden in Bridgerton.

He said: ‘I went round to see Jon Chu (the director) before we started filming and I said to him “I think I know who the horse is” and he said “What do you mean?” .

“And I was like, ‘That’s Jack, the horse that I had ridden at Bridgerton that I had a great relationship with’.

‘People say you don’t work with children and animals, but if it’s Jack, I’d say take the job. He is a legend.’

And fans have been obsessing over the comparison, with some admitting they ‘sobbed’ at the news.

Some wrote: ‘this is actually sick’, ‘whaaat this is so cute’, ‘I love this so much’.

Jonathan arrives on the horse in his grand entrance in Wicked, which hits theaters November 22.

The epic fantasy film is based on Gregory Maguire’s 1995 book, which was later turned into a three-time Tony Award-winning Broadway musical in 2003.

Directed by Jon M. Chu with an eye-popping budget of $145 million, Wicked is split into two feature films, with the final chapter slated for release in November 2025.

Critics are already calling Wicked: Part One a ‘masterpiece’ that ‘pops and enchants on the big screen’ as audiences are welcomed into the fantastical world of Oz.

The cast includes Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, Ethan Slater, Marissa Bode, Bowen Yang, Bronwyn James and Peter Dinklage among many others.

Wicked: Part One hits theaters on November 22nd, and the sequel, Wicked: Part Two, will follow next year and is scheduled to premiere on November 21st, 2025
