Family searches for missing ‘Gossip Girl’ actress in California

The family of missing actress Chanel Banks continues to search for her two weeks after she disappeared in Los Angeles.

According to one GoFundMe page created by Banks’ cousin, Danielle-Tori Singh, the 36-year-old – who played Sawyer Bennett in the Gossip Girl — has not been in contact with loved ones since 30 Oct.

Police conducted welfare checks on Banks on Nov. 7 and Nov. 8, but she was reportedly not present at her Playa Vista apartment on both occasions, the GoFundMe page continued.

Singh, who has now flown to California from Toronto to search for her missing cousin, stated that she and her aunt managed to enter Banks’ apartment on November 10, where they saw that the actress had left her dog and his car. which was allegedly parked in her garage.

“The only things we didn’t find are her phone and laptop. She also doesn’t go anywhere without her little dog, who was also left behind,” the GoFundMe description read.

“She would NEVER go anywhere without telling her mother or myself,” Singh added.

Singh said his cousin – who also appeared in the TV drama blue blood – had been married for just over a year, and the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) had told them there were “no signs of foul play” at her home.

“The last text we got from her before her phone went offline was on October 30,” Singh said KTLA. “I’m not going to leave California until I find my cousin.”

The LAPD told the outlet they had conducted four welfare checks and were investigating Banks’ disappearance.

“Five days without hearing from my cousin are red flags and alarm bells,” Singh added KABC days after Banks disappeared. “She doesn’t go more than 48 hours without talking to me or her mom… That girl is more like a big sister to me.”

“I can tell you in my soul, in my gut, that something is not right… We are crossing two weeks now without a word, without a sound. Nothing,” Singh told the newspaper.

The family’s GoFundMe has raised over $3,000 so far. “We also need money for hotels, food, rental car and gas,” Singh added of the family’s search in the post, adding that Banks’ mother had flown in from New York to help.

The LAPD did not immediately respond when contacted by PEOPLE for comment.
