Ted Cruz’s daughter shakes when dad praises Trump

Video has surfaced showing that one of the teenage daughters of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) wasn’t very happy when her dad said he would Donald Trump to return to the White House.

Cruz celebrated his re-election victory over Rep. Colin Allred (D-TX) Tuesday night in Texas, where Democrats were hoping to pull through and flip the seat. Instead, it was one of several losses in the Senate for Democrats, who relinquished control of the upper chamber.

On Thursday, a clip of Cruz’s victory speech made the rounds online. As he spoke, the presidential election had not yet been called, and the senator said he wanted to see Trump re-elected.

“And I believe and I hope and pray that Donald Trump will be re-elected president of the United States,” Cruz said while flanked by his wife, Heidi, and their daughters. A TikTok user happened to catch the expression on the cover of Caroline Cruzwho cringed hard as her father delivered the line.

She turned to her mother and seemed to say to her mother, Heidi, “Don’t clap for it.”

Of course, Trump ended up winning Tuesday’s race against vice president Kamala Harris.

“I want to say thank you, number one, to my extraordinary wife, Heidi, my best friend in the world,” the senator continued. “Such a great partner on this magic carpet ride of life. And I want to say thank you to our two beautiful and amazing girls, Caroline and Catherine. You know, politics sometimes takes a toll on family. And I want to say that I am so grateful for their love and support.”

Cruz famously sparred with Trump in the 2016 GOP primaries, in which Trump degraded the senator’s appearance and suggested that Cruz’s father was involved in the assassination of John F. Kennedy.
