Former President Donald Trump hurled insults at former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi at his campaign rally in Michigan that stretched into early Tuesday, while his running mate Sen. JD Vance described Vice President Kamala Harris as “garbage” at an earlier meeting Monday night — offering a sharp contrast from the Democratic candidate’s more upbeat closing message calling for a “fresh start” for America.

Vance’s comments were another attempt by the Trump campaign to turn the “garbage” controversy against Biden after they faced strong backlash over comedian Tony Hinchcliffe’s remark at a Trump rally calling Puerto Rico a “floating lake of garbage. “
