Could the past be prologue in Ohio?

Not a prediction, just something I’ll be curious about tomorrow:

Voter numbers in Ohio according to the Secretary of State as of May 2024 before Biden dropped from was:

Number of registered voters in Ohio: 8,060,554

Number of registered Democrats: 817,063

Number of registered Republicans: 1,508,641

Number of unaffiliated registered voters: 5,734,850

I have not found an updated list since Harris was nominated. However other The election result that I find intriguing is from last year, when the 2023 general election included an amendment to the Ohio Constitution protecting abortion rights. The Yes vote totaled 56.8%, defeating the Republican-led opposition. Ohio also came out in high numbers for a surprise special election in August 2023 that sought to block the issue from ever reaching the November ballot, rejecting the measure by a whopping 57% to 43% of the vote. Ohio was just one of several states where Kansas was an early surprise among those whose votes on this issue did not match expectations based on their past party preferences.

Again, not a prediction since a year earlier our state also gifted America with Senator JD Vance.

(Gifted in the sense that finding a flaming sack of dog poo on your front porch is a “gift”.)

At least it will be interesting.
