Family pay tribute to dad-of-six who died on Christmas Day in Staffordshire | UK News

A man who died on Christmas Day has been named as Louis Price, a 31-year-old father of six.

Police were called to a report of a man in cardiac arrest in Norton Canes, Staffordshire, at around 3.25am on Wednesday.

They said he died a short time later – but his cause of death has not yet been revealed.

Staffordshire Police have been given more time to question a 33-year-old woman who was arrested on suspicion of murder on December 25.

Mr Price’s family have paid tribute to the 31-year-old, describing him as a “well-loved” and “well-known member of the community, (who) always had a smile on his face and brought positive energy wherever he went”.

Their statement continued: “He always had time for anyone and would help anyone he could. Louis was a devoted fisherman, he had a passion for fishing and regularly went on trips with friends and family. He loved football, he played for a team and was a lifelong supporter of Aston Villa.

“As a family we are devastated to lose Louis. Life will never be the same without him, he leaves a huge hole in the lives of everyone who knew him. Christmas is a time we have always spent together as a family, losing Louis on this time it’s even more difficult.”

Mr Price is survived by his parents, brother, sister and his six children.

“He has four daughters and two sons whom he loved dearly,” his family said. “Louis had a big heart, he loved those closest to him.

“As a family we would like to ask people to respect our privacy at this difficult time and we ask people not to speculate about what has happened.”

Staffordshire Police confirmed that a referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) following recent contact.
