Nintendo Switch 2 leak finally confirms a big and rather surprising detail | Game | Entertainment

It looks like the Nintendo Switch 2 could be revealed this Christmas, albeit not by Nintendo.

A recent report on Reddit suggests that the new Nintendo console and its dock are in the hands of one lucky fan.

We’ll get to the good stuff soon, but the leaker has promised to send proof by Christmas, meaning we could potentially get a look at the new console on December 25th.

Meanwhile, Reddit user “NextHandheld” has given fans a few details about the new console, including its name.

According to “NextHandheld”, the console will be called Nintendo Switch 2, which however comes as something of a surprise.

As well as being more powerful than the current system, the console is also said to have some extra functionality.

The Joy-con controllers will reportedly have magnetic hall-effect joysticks, which should eliminate stick drift.

The console will reportedly launch in dark gray, though additional colors may also be available.

In addition to the proof “NextHandheld” has said he will post by Christmas, the console should be revealed in full next January.

According to previous leaks, the new console is said to be larger than the current model with a smaller bezel for more screen space.

There’s a good chance that the upcoming Metroid Prime sequel could launch as a cross-generational title for both the Switch and its successor.

Nintendo has done this with games like Twilight Princess back on Gamecube and Wii, as well as Breath of the Wild on Wii U and Nintendo Switch.

Speaking of Breath of the Wild, there are reports that Nintendo showed off the power of the Switch 2 with a demo for the highly rated Legend of Zelda release.

“NextHandheld” also suggests that Mario Kart 9 could be revealed alongside the Nintendo Switch 2 when it’s announced next year.
