More than 2 million travelers are expected at SEA Airport until the end of the year

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) is gearing up for holiday travel with festive activities, updated travel amenities and the return of the SEA Visitor Pass program.

SEA Airport expects over 2 million travelers from December 19 to January 2, with the busiest days expected to be December 20 and 21, with 172,000 travelers expected on Friday alone.

From December 20 to 27, travelers can enjoy a 90-minute free parking period in the General Parking area during the evening hours, helping to ease congestion during one of the busiest weeks of the year.

The free parking window runs from 20:00 to midnight, making it easier for friends and family to pick up or drop off passengers.

SEA Airport encourages drivers to use the south entrance from International Boulevard and 182nd Street for faster access.

Holiday festivities at SEA Airport include live music, roaming holiday characters and interactive snow globes showcasing global holiday traditions. Visitors can also see Jett the SEA Otter, the airport’s new mascotat selected events.

Additionally The SEA Visitor Pass program is back, allowing non-travellers to register for access beyond security checkpoints. Whether meeting arriving loved ones or exploring the terminal’s offerings, the program provides more opportunities to enjoy the airport’s facilities.

Construction at the northern end of the ticketing area is also nearing completion, with new, open spaces and upgraded check-in technology now available as part of the SEA Gateway project.

Travelers are encouraged to plan ahead as Checkpoint 5 remains closed, with guides in green to assist.

To make the journey easier, SEA recommends using SEA Spot Saver to reserve a security line seat, arrive early for flights and take advantage of public transport or reserved parking options.
