Sydney Sweeney Responds to Body-Shamers with Workout Video

For Sydney Sweeney, the haters are her fuel. On Friday, the actress clapped back at body critics in the most iconic way after she was photographed wearing a bikini outside her home in the Florida Keys and received a number of hurtful comments in response to her appearance.

In a video posted to Instagram, Sweeney included dozens of screenshots of people’s mean words. “Nothing to see here but an average chunky Yankee girl,” read one, while another declared her an “Ozempic candidate.” The criticism was then followed up by a montage of intense training footage of Sweeney in the gym, in preparation for her role as Christy Martin in the upcoming biopic about the former professional boxer.

The highlight wheel showed Euphoria star flipping tires, lifting weights and boxing both inside and outside the ring. Sweeney reposted the video to her Instagram story, writing: “Christy Martin Strong .”

Back in October, Sweeney announced that she was cast to portray Martin in the nameless project. “Well, cats out of the bag… so here’s a little BTS from my movie I’m working on right now,” she wrote via Instagram. “Over the past few months, I have been immersed in training to bring to life the story of an incredible woman – a true champion who fought battles both inside and outside the ring.”

Sweeney added: “Her journey is a testament to resilience, strength and hope and I am honored to step into her shoes to share her powerful story with all of you. More to come soon.”
