Lay’s Chips are being recalled right now

There is an active recall of a limited number of Lay’s potato chips, according to the US Food & Drug Administration. This is due to an undeclared allergen.

The 13-ounce bags of Lay’s Classic Potato Chips may contain milk, a common allergen, and the recall was announced after a customer complaint. These mislabeled bags were distributed and sold at retail locations in Oregon and Washington, and were also sold online. The recalled chips contain a UPC of “28400 31041,” a guaranteed fresh date of February 11, 2025, and production code “6462307xx” or “6463307xx.”

If your chips match the recalled information, Frito-Lay encourages you to discard them as soon as possible. You may also contact Frito-Lay Consumer Relations at 1-800-352-4477 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CST, Monday through Friday for information on possible refunds.

Those with milk intolerance or allergy may experience a reaction if they unknowingly consume this product. This includes reactions as severe as anaphylaxis, which can cause symptoms such as hives, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, tight throat, difficulty breathing and cardiac arrest. If you show signs of an allergic reaction, call 911 immediately.

No other varieties of Lay’s potato chip products are affected by this recall.
