For those who don’t remember, Smith starred in “The Karate Kid,” a highly successful movie released in 2010. He played the role of Dre Parker, a 12-year-old boy who turns to karate and to his mentor ( played by Chang) to deal with some of the struggles he faced in his everyday life.

While the trailer for “Karate Kid: Legends” seems to focus on a new young character, viewers on social media started speculating about Smith and whether or not he would be in the film.

“I’m still hoping there’s a Jaden Smith cameo,” one viewer wrote.

“You know the internet loves to pick on Jaden Smith, but one thing we’ll all always agree on is that he was a great Karate Kid and we all want to see him in the role again,” wrote another person.

“If jaden smith and the kids from the show pull the plug at the end, the expanded karate universe will be insane,” one fan theorized.
