Is Special Ops: Lioness season 3 renewed or canceled by Paramount+?

As of now, Special Ops: Lioness Season 3 has not been announced by Paramount Plus.

But fans continue to be optimistic about a third installment. In an interview with Vanity Fairlead actor Zoe Saldaña, who plays Joe, subtly hinted at season 3 while praising the show.

She said: “I wish it was the fact that I had space in my life (laughs). I signed up for at least three seasons and so you have some kind of contractual obligation to fulfill, but Lioness is not just that. Lioness has been a journey that has given me the opportunity to collaborate with a different type of filmmaker.”

Saldana mentioned three seasons in her interview, which has raised hopes among fans. Additionally, series usually go to a three-season deal depending on viewership. Actors also want to have three seasons under contract for any show they are a part of.

On the other hand, Lioness’s positive reception in terms of critical appreciation and reviews strongly suggests a third installment. It currently has an IMDB rating of 7.7 out of 10 and an audience meter of 72% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Considering the release date patterns of the first two seasons, Lioness Season 3 could be released sometime in late 2025 or early 2026. However, it is up to the creators to decide the future of the successful series.
