The ‘Yellowstone’ season 5 finale sees a country star tear it up at the famed Fort Worth venue

The Season 5 finale of the hit series “Yellowstone” included another road trip to Texas, where a concert scene featuring Lainey Wilson’s character, Abby, was shot at a famous Fort Worth venue.

Abby seems to have come a long way from her days as a musician at local rodeos. Season 5, episode 14 saw Wilson’s character playing a show at Billy Bob’s Texas, a famous Fort Worth venue that calls itself “the world’s largest honky tonk,” according to his website.

Fans of the show and Wilson anticipated a concert scene with the Grammy-winning artist thanks to casting calls for such in the Fort Worth area. And the scene finally took place in the Season 5 finale.

While the “Hang Tight Honey” singer’s concert at Billy Bob’s on “Yellowstone” may have been a first for her character Abby, it wasn’t Wilson’s first time performing at the iconic venue.

Lainey Wilson’s sound glitches on Billy Bob’s Texas and other notable artists

Wilson’s first appearance at Billy Bob’s came in February 2023 when she played the Texas Independence Day Jam. The singer returned for a solo show in September 2023. According to report by country nowthe singer ran into a sound system blackout during that show after lighting hit some of her sound equipment.

Instead of leaving the stage and waiting for the technicians to figure things out, Wilson grabbed a megaphone, continued the show and engaged with the audience to make sure they were entertained while the sound issues were fixed.

The “Smell Like Smoke” singer’s character on “Yellowstone” didn’t run into any technical difficulties during her show at Billy Bob’s Texas. However, Abby – who first appeared in the Season 5 premiere in 2022 – ran into a former flame at the show who hoped to follow her and her music career across Texas and beyond.

Other notable names who have played Billy Bobs include Texas music legends George Jones, Willie Nelson, Tanya Tucker, George Strait and Robert Earl Keen, to name a few.

Due to her growing popularity, Wilson may grace the stage of Billy Bob’s Texas again in the future.
