When do the NFL playoffs start?

The NFL playoffs start on Saturday, January 11 and Sunday, January 12 with the wild card round.

What is the NFL postseason format?

There are eight NFL divisions, four in the NFC and four in the AFC, with each division winner earning a playoff berth in each conference, along with the three non-division winners with the best records in that conference earning postseason wild-card bids.

The top overall seed in the AFC and the top overall seed in the NFC earn byes to the divisional round of the playoffs.

Wild-card round

11 January 2025 – 13 January 2025: Three matches will be played on Saturday (11:00, 14:30, 18:00), two will be played on Sunday (14:30, 18:15) and one will be played on Monday (18:15)

Divisional round

18 January 2025 – 19 January 2025: Two matches will be played on Saturday (14:30, 18:15) and two will be played on Sunday (13:00, 16:30)

Conference championship round

January 26, 2025: Both the NFC Championship Game (1 p.m., FOX) and the AFC Championship Game (4:30 p.m., CBS) will be played on Sunday.

Super Bowl

Sunday, February 9, 2025: The game between the AFC champion and the NFC champion will be broadcast at 16.30 on FOX.

Who should be in the NFL playoffs?
