Bitter cold night ahead; lake effect snow lingers to the east

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – An arctic air mass has settled into Northern Ohio today and it won’t leave until the weekend!

Temperatures will drop into the lower teens tonight.

With the breeze factored in, it will feel like single digits at times.

Some lingering lake effect snow will continue to be possible this evening across Lake County and northern Ashtabula County.

A further one to four centimeters of new snowfall may occur at most.

Outside of these areas, plan for cold temperatures and passing showers.

Friday will be our last day in the freezer!

Temperatures will only rise into the mid to upper 20s tomorrow afternoon.

The wind will be much lighter.

Expect morning showers and glimpses of sun.

Temperatures are finally starting to warm up this weekend.

19 The First Alert Weather Team is predicting highs in the low to mid 40s Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday offers dry conditions.

Rain will return to the forecast on Sunday.
