Miley Cyrus thanks Pamela Anderson, celebrates ‘The Last Showgirl’ song Golden Globe nomination

Miley Cyrus is grateful to Pamela Anderson for sharing the success of her latest project with the Grammy winner.

Cyrus released her new single “Beautiful that way,” which was written and recorded for Gia Coppola The Last Showgirl, on December 9. The song’s release came shortly after being nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Original Song – Motion Picture.

After Cyrus’ nomination was announced, she thanked Anderson, 57, and Coppola, 37, for inviting her to collaborate on the production.

“It’s an honor to be nominated for Best Original Song alongside my friends and collaborators Andrew Wyatt and Lykke Li at the Golden Globes & Critics Choice Awards,” Cyrus wrote Instagram.

“Pamela graciously shares her moment with us. I continue to root for her; it’s so much fun to watch her shine,” Cyrus wrote of Anderson, who is a serious honoree for the first time in her 35 years in Hollywood.

Cyrus ended the post by thanking the director, writing, “Thank you Gia Coppola for inviting me to be a part of your gem The Last Showgirl.”

Cyrus’ latest single was co-written with producers Lykke Li and Andrew Wyatt.

“Pamela is deeply embedded in my earliest memories with my mother,” Cyrus shared Black. “We both adored Pam and still do.”

“I took the feelings I have about the times with my mom and the few times we’ve had with Pam. I thought a lot about what this movie means to her, not just as an actress, but as the special person, she is,” Cyrus continued. “I celebrate evolution, and she’s done it in such a graceful way, as reflected in Last Showgirl.”

Anderson was also nominated for a Golden Globe for his work in the film, which stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Dave Bautista, Billie Lourd, Kiernan Shipka and Brenda Song. In his statement about the nomination, Anderson expressed his gratitude and gave a shout-out to Cyrus, Li and Wyatt for their work.

“I share this beautiful nomination The Last Showgirl Family, my family and my hardworking companions on this interesting journey,” Anderson wrote in a statement obtained by PEOPLE. “It’s never too late to dream, to start again, to stay open to possibilities – we’re not all that lucky.”

“I wish everyone my love and thanks as I navigate this exciting new chapter,” Anderson added.
