Arizona Weather Forecast: Windy conditions in Phoenix with temperatures in the 70s

Our mild December weather continues!

Thursday afternoon the high temperature reached 75° in the valley with low airy conditions in Phoenix. Wind gusts can reach about 15 mph.

Stronger winds are predicted in the high country. In fact, gusts of 30-35 mph are expected around Flagstaff and up to 30-40 mph in the Show Low and White Mountains. The increasing winds are due to a cold front that will move over the west coast and inland over the west into Friday.

Ahead of the front, the wind will pick up Arizona. Behind the front, cooler air will settle into the condition.

The front will not bring any rain or snow to Arizona. However, the cooler temperatures will bring Phoenix back into the upper 60s on Friday. Morning temperatures will also be cooler in the lower deserts with lows in the 40s around the valley Friday morning, as well as into the weekend morning.

A ridge will begin to rebuild this weekend, so high temperatures will return to the low 70s during the afternoon. Winds will remain lighter with a mix of sun and clouds for both Saturday and Sunday. Perfect conditions for outdoor plans!

Next week, warm air will continue to hang over the Southwest, pushing high temperatures into the mid-70s for most of next week.
