Ange Postecoglou reaction – What did the Tottenham boss say after the draw with Wolves?

Tottenham now have just one win from their last seven Premier League games after surrendering a late lead to draw Wolves 2-2 in north London on Sunday.

SPURS 2-2 WOLVES – Highlights, summary and analysis

Ange Postecoglou’s side had to fight back after going behind after 7 minutes, but they did so through Rodrigo Bentancur and Brennan Johnson before the break. Another defensive injury (Destiny Udogie – hamstring) began training shortly after the restart and by the end it was all Wolves as they chased – and eventually got – an equaliser. Another valiant effort for a team that finished the game with only two healthy first-team defenders.

“It’s a disappointing result. Obviously we went a goal down but after that I felt we controlled the game. It wasn’t always easy to get openings but we looked quite threatening every time we came forward .We scored a couple of goals, we obviously missed the penalty and then the second half, I just thought we had some really big moments to kill the game.

“They didn’t really create much. I mean, I think Fraser had a save to make with his feet and that was it. You felt we needed the third goal and obviously they score at the end and you’re left with a bit of a disappointing result, but it’s not for lack of trying, obviously, you know, the lads are quite tired – especially in the front third, we’re not as sharp as we can be, which is understandable, because we’re asking a lot of kind of a core group of players and, like I said, it’s not for trying. They’re trying to get the results for us.”

“We’re asking a lot from a small core group of players. The whole group probably needs a few days to get away and recover. It’s been really intense for a core group of players. It will do them good to go away with their families to recover mentally as much as physically.”
