Colder temperatures, snow showers start 2025 in Metro Detroit

4 Warn the weather – After some showers to start the weekend, more showers are expected to finish the weekend and we will also bring gusty winds into the forecast for the end of the weekend.

Our next round of rain moves in for the end of the weekend on Sunday, so rain is likely for everyone most of the day. High temperatures will cool slightly to the upper 40s and lower 50s Sunday afternoon. Winds will become gusty throughout the day, expect gusts up to 25 to 30 MPH throughout the day.

Showers will continue into the early overnight hours before dissipating. Expect the colder temperatures to move in and overnight lows to drop into the mid-30s.

Dry weather returns to the forecast for the start of next week on Monday, mostly cloudy skies to start the day before we get some breaks in the clouds for some sunshine. High temperatures back in the mid-40s Monday afternoon.

Our next system will move into the region on Tuesday and it looks to be rain showers that transition to snow showers as cooler air moves into the region. High temperatures are headed for the lower 40s Tuesday afternoon.

Once that low pressure system moves east we will have a northwesterly flow kicking into the region to start the new year. This will bring colder air into the region and chances for snow showers Wednesday through the end of the week on Friday. Highs in the 30s Wednesday and Thursday will drop to the upper 20s by the end of the week on Friday.

We will keep cloud cover in the forecast to start next weekend. High temperatures will remain below freezing heading into the first weekend of the new year. High temperatures will make it into the upper 20s on Saturday.
