Blown with improved conditions for our Sunday | Local news

Happy Sunday! Lingering rain showers will end from west to east at 9:00 a.m. EST. Cloud cover will hang around this morning with sunshine gradually returning this afternoon. Winds will gust up to 30-35 mph as low pressure exits to our north. Temperatures will hover in the mid-50s most of the day.

Hour by Hour

Monday and Tuesday will be mild with highs in the 60s. A few showers will be possible late Monday into Tuesday morning, but any impacts will be minimal.

A major pattern shift becomes more likely after we usher in the new year. A favorable upper level pattern will allow more admissions of Arctic air to head our way starting around January 3rd and continuing through the middle of the month. All global forecast models agree that below-normal temperatures will settle over the eastern half of the country during this time frame. This would be a favorable pattern for wintry mischief if we can get a storm system to sync up with the cold. Of course, that’s a big IF!
