With LeBron James out for the Los Angeles Lakers game Saturday night against the Sacramento Kings, Anthony Davis stepped up big, recording 36 points, 15 rebounds and eight assists in a 132-122 victory.

Davis started hot with 17 points, two assists and eight rebounds in the first half and shot 7-of-8 from the field. Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura also made big contributions with 26 and 21 points, respectively, in the win.

With the Lakers trailing by one at halftime, 66-65, fans took to social media to praise Davis for his hot start:

The Kings counter by outscoring the Lakers 32-22 in the paint, and the Kings start hitting the offensive glass.

In the first quarter, Davis was perfect from the field, going 5-for-5, including two big baskets in the final three minutes.

Davis and the Lakers improved to 18-13 with their second straight win on Saturday, which came three days after a triumphant Christmas showdown with the Golden State Warriors.

The Lakers will look for a third straight win when they host Donovan Mitchell and the Eastern Conference-leading Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday night.
