Swansea City: Luke Williams stays out of dressing room for QPR win

Williams then saw his players for their pre-match meal before QPR, but then headed to his Swansea.com Stadium office instead of the home dressing room.

“I’ve done it before as a coach. I spoke to the captain this week and he had some incredible insights for me,” he said.

“We have routines and certain things we do on match day minus one or match day minus three or whatever.

“But sometimes you feel that something is needed or not needed. Today it wasn’t about me, it was about the players listening to me who might have been sulking (earlier) and saying ‘okay, enough’. “

Williams added that there was no need for him to listen to Grimes’ pregame or halftime team talks because he “never trusted anybody more.”

“This show has Matt Grimes written all over it,” he added.

“It’s impossible for me to think that I could have a better captain with how I want to play and how the fans want to see their team.”
