Maura Higgins ‘concerned’ her ex will reveal all about their relationship on Love Island All Stars

Maura Higgins is said to be ‘concerned’ that her ex Curtis Pritchard may spill secrets about their past relationship if he joins the upcoming series of Love Island: All-Stars.

The I’m A Celeb star, 34, and professional dancer, 28, first appeared on the original series of Love Island back in 2019, where the pair ended up finishing in fourth place.

Despite their initial spark, the romance fizzled out and they split just eight months later amid rumors of infidelity on both sides – allegations they have both denied.

While Maura recently made a splash on TV with her stint in the jungle – where she opened up about dating TOWIE star Pete Wicks – Curtis could soon be making his own comeback in the limelight.

A source said The sun: ‘Curtis’ signing for All Stars is more than awkward for Maura, just as she’s fallen for Pete, and they’ve finally gone public with their love.

‘Her breakup with Curtis wasn’t the best, and Maura was always worried that he’d be the ex who could babble. It’s also less than ideal as she hopes to build on her I’m A Celebrity profile and advance her career.

“Love Island bosses are in the process of confirming the Islanders who will launch January’s show and Curtis may not feature in that line-up – but he’s in line for bombs to land later in the series.”

MailOnline has contacted a representative for Maura for further comment.

ITV announced last week that the start date of the reality dating series is just weeks away and will begin on January 13 at 7pm. 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.

It comes after Maura discussed her experience on Love Island on Paul C Brunson’s We Need To Talk podcast.

Speaking about her ex Curtis, she described him as a “why not” man, explaining that she only dated him because there were limited options in the villa.

She said: ‘When you’re locked in a house, I say locked, but you’re in a house and you’re in there for X amount of time. You will start to like people that you normally wouldn’t like.

‘Not to be mean, but you are, you’re in there. I’m pretty sure it would probably be the same on Big Brother. You are locked in a house; you don’t see other men. You’re going to be like ‘why not.’

When asked about the comments, Curtis told The Sun: ‘I have no idea what she’s done. I don’t even know what podcast you’re on about. I have no idea’.

Elsewhere, Maura and Pete reunited after weeks of speculation over their romance, just hours after she returned to the UK following her time on I’m A Celeb earlier this month.

The pair posed for a photo together at a London hotel as they enjoyed themselves with a group of friends as they celebrated Maura’s return from her month-long trip to Australia.

Maura landed at London Heathrow Airport just hours before but was clearly keen to catch up with Strictly star Pete as soon as possible.

A beaming Maura reposted her friend’s mirror selfie on her Instagram stories, with the group of friends seen surrounded by jungle-themed balloons.

During her time in the jungle, Maura apparently confirmed she was dating Pete after they were spotted kissing just weeks before she flew to Australia.

When former Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse was asked if he was single, Maura replied: ‘I am but I was seeing someone before I came in but I’m not in a relationship.’

Reverend Richard Coles – a founding member of 80s synth-pop group The Communards – then asked: ‘Was it exclusive? Or if I’ve put you on the spot, sorry!’, to which she replied after a long pause: ‘I don’t know’.

Maura also revealed the pair had known each other for longer than fans might expect – and said Pete had relentlessly pursued her.

‘Yes, we’ve known each other for five years, and never once…’ she said to Oti.

“He would always be like, “Oh no, like, we’re going on a date somewhere.” And I’d be like, “Actually, we’re not.” And I’d be dead serious, “Actually, we’re not. You are delusional.”

Appearing on This Morning following her elimination from the show, she shared her excitement at potentially seeing Pete on her return to the UK and admitted he had encouraged her decision to enter the jungle.

She said: ‘Honestly, he’s been so supportive. I didn’t know if he was still in Strictly, I’m so proud of him and he’s proud of me and I can’t wait to see him.’

When asked why she eventually changed her mind, Maura explained: ‘He wouldn’t give up. And then I thought: “Oh fine”.

‘I brought my friends with me and I was like, “look it’s a friend date.” And then the next time I went, just me.’

Talking about their first date, she admitted that no expense was spared, noting: ‘We went out for oysters and wine. Yes, come on. It was super nice.’

As for their chemistry, Maura said: ‘Yeah, it’s a lot of fun. We just call each other 24/7. We have the same sense of humor.’
