PLANE is usually a pretty good starting guess, but today it failed me. With 200 remaining possible solutions and a meager yellow box, I had many words to cut. I’m not sure if TAROT was the best choice, but it cut that number down to just 5 and secured a green box and another vocal. MACHO eliminated all possible solutions except one: MAMBO for the win!

Today’s Wordle Etymology

The word “mambo” originates from the Kikongo language of Central Africa where “mambo” means “conversation” or “words”. It was brought to the Caribbean through the African diaspora and mixed with Afro-Cuban culture. In Cuban music, mambo developed to describe a musical style and dance that emerged in the 1940s characterized by syncopated rhythms and energetic movements.
