Kyler Murray: Connection with Marvin Harrison Jr. “not where the team needs it to be”

The Cardinals may not make the playoffs, but quarterback Kyler Murray said in a news conference Tuesday that there won’t be “one foot off the gas” in the final two weeks of the season.

One of the things Murray will be focused on while playing the string is his connection with Marvin Harrison Jr. Harrison was the first receiver selected in this year’s draft and was seen as a must-see prospect, but his production — 51 catches for 726 yards and seven touchdowns — hasn’t been as high as other rookies Malik Nabers, Brock Bowers, Brian Thomas or Ladd McConkey.

Murray said Tuesday that the two players have “no choice” but to work on their connection “for our offense to be what we want it to be.”

“We have must get betterwe have to get better,” Murray said. “It’s not where he wants it, it’s not where I want it. It’s not where the team needs it. Again, I haven’t lost any confidence. I’m excited for the next two weeks.”

The work to maximize Harrison’s contributions will continue in the offseason, and it’s one of several areas where the Cardinals will look to improve before the 2025 season gets underway.
